Oh praise the name of Jesus

Lyrics

Oh praise the name of Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, before the world’s foundation, the Name above all names. From every tribe and nation, a people bought for God, the price of our salvation was paid with His blood.

Oh praise the name of Jesus, the Saviour come to earth, conceived of a virgin, and in Bethlehem His birth. As the prophets had foretold it, so it came to be; Our Messiah will fulfill every word of prophecy.

Oh praise the name of Jesus, who lived as a man, obedient to the Father, completing His plan. He laid aside His glory, served with humility, He was lifted up for all and pierced on a tree.

And as He was dying He cried out, “Father, why? Why am I forsaken and left here to die?” My God, it was for me, He drank that bitter cup. He bore it all for me, Bought my freedom with His blood.

So I’ll praise the name of Jesus, for He will come again, the King of all creation, the Lord of Lords to reign. The trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised and the precious name of Jesus will ever more be praised!
